OUR STORY
Steelhead Lodge has hosted Idaho adventurers for over two decades, but its owners go back twice as long.
Childhood best friends since kindergarten, Amber and Darcy maintained that bond as they raised their families in Idaho and California.
The friends fell in love with the Salmon River gorge on a family rafting trip during the summer of 2020– and when Darcy's husband Matty discovered the world-class fishing and a guest lodge for sale, the three of them were hooked!
Matching Idaho’s rugged beauty with a new level of comfort and style became their passion, culminating in a modern relaunch of the former Steelhead Inn, now lovingly renamed the Steelhead Lodge. Come and see!

Our goal is to keep the good times going when you get back to Steelhead Lodge. Or on those days you never leave.
The “Back Eddy,” our community kitchen, is stocked with all the cookware and dinnerware you need to whip up a feast and dine with friends and family on the property. Or, grill and chill at our riverfront BBQ and gazebo. Grab your groceries in town and then add some herbs and veggies fresh from our garden.
Don’t forget marshmallows for s’mores around the fire pit!
For those with a competitive spirit, strike up a cornhole tourney on the lawn, toss horseshoes, and shoot hoops on the sport court.
Or, just grab a book from our free lending library and enjoy the river view.

EXPLORE SALMON RIVER CANYON
This stretch of the Salmon River is made famous by our namesake steelhead. Sportsmen come from far and wide to fish for steelhead out of jet boats and drift boats, or to try their luck with a spey rod for the “fish of a thousand casts.”
Other popular activities include white water rafting, Hells Canyon jet boat tours, elk, deer, chukar and turkey hunting, four-wheeling, morel mushroom foraging, hiking, and roadside geology.
Steelhead Lodge is located 14 miles downriver of lively Riggins, and 14 miles upriver of the Western hospitality of White Bird. Check out these two towns for restaurants, watering holes, antiquing, and summertime music and festivals.

The River House is a private cottage with an expansive deck and sunken redwood hot tub overlooking the Salmon River.

The House includes a king bedroom, small bunk room, remodeled bathroom, fully-stocked kitchen, and open floor plan living room, plus a private deck and hot tub.
